Eddie Izzard has announced the North American leg of his world tour.

He is to play 48 dates in the US and three in Canada this autumn as part of his Sexie tour.

Last week, the Australian and New Zealand dates were unveiled. The show opens in Melbourne on July 16.

The European leg of the tour, which is expected to include London, Dublin, Berlin and Reykjavik has yet to be unveiled.

This will be his first live tour since Circle in 1999.The dates are:
