Comics are to perform in what is being touted as the world's most unusual venue - an aluminium lift on Brighton beach.

The 2.5m square lift will be at the Sussex city's International Festival from May 3 to 11.

A full day's entertainment will be offered, hosted by comedy trio The Giant Pineapple Boys, with comedy starting from 7pm.

The 5065 venue is sponsored by CoffeeDirect and is named after the altitude in feet at which fair trade coffee is grown - can hold 20 people, including cast and crew.
