Allen, Iannucci, Hislop sign for R3

Woody Allen, Armando Iannucci and Ian Hislop have all been signed up to present shows on Radio 3.

The station said it was revamping some of its shows, not to reduce the amount of time dedicated to classical music, but to give its "non-core" programmes greater coherence.

Allen will be hosting the station's Jazz File show alongside Jools Holland, George Melly and André Previn.

Meanwhile, Alan Partridge writer Iannucci and Private Eye editor Ian Hislop join the roster of presenters of the Saturday morning show this summer, introducing their personal selection of classical music.

Radio Three controller Roger Wright said: "I'm delighted to introduce a new range of voices to the network, alongside a development of our regular music programmes. One of the network's many aims is bringing music to a wider audience."
