Moore heads CND benefit

Comics challenge Iraq war

Michael Moore is to appear at a CND benefit show next month.

In London for a series of live dates, the controversial director of the hit documentary Bowling For Columbine will help raise funds to mount a legal challenge to stop British troops going into Iraq.

Mark Thomas, Jeremy Hardy and Mark Steel are also on the bill at the Bloomsbury Theatre on December 3.

The CND claims the government will be acting illegally if it goes to war with Iraq without a new resolution from the United Nations security council, and has legal experts backing its opinion.

Campaigner Carol Naughton said: "The Government can be sure that we will go to court. We are opposed to this proposed war and consider armed force would make a bad situation worse for the Iraqi people."

Tickets to the gig are priced £15 from 020 7388 8822.
