Ticket demand crashes website

Demand for Peter Kay tickets has been so high that it crashed the computerised booking system dealing with it.

All online ticket sales at ticketzone.co.uk have been suspended because too many people were trying to book seats for the Phoenix Nights star.

The site has been unavailable since tickets went on sale for Kay's extra gigs at 10am today.

Kay added 45 dates to his tour next year, including extended runs in London, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool and his native Bolton, after the original 73 gigs sold out.

The new shows run from January 27 to April 3. Full dates are available here - and bookings can be made by phone on 0870 011 2626.
