Out this Weak

Link's comedy special ready to air

The comedians' edition of The Weakest Link is to be shown this Saturday.

Nine young comics traded barbed jibes with Anne Robinson in the special edition, recorded in May.

She mocks the contenders she called "the Bob Monkhouses of tomorrow" for being unfunny and unknown - and they hit back with gags about her age and looks.

Matt Blaize told her: "You're really quite attractive, Anne. In a Mr Burns from The Simpsons kind of way."

And Karen Cockfield ridiculed her former job on Watchdog saying: "Round our way, that makes you a bleeding grass."

Which comments survive will be revealed when the show is aired on BBC1 at 5.45pm on Saturday.

Others taking part were Paul Kerensa, Susan Murray, John Ryan, Des Clarke, Andy White, Lorraine Benlos and Joe Heenan.

The winner walked away with almost £10,000

Other recent specials have featured drag queens and hated professions, such as traffic wardens.
