Plaque for Carry On star Sims

Carry On star Joan Sims is to be remembered with a blue plaque.

The honour will be unveiled outside her former home in Kensington, West London, by Barbara Windsor.

Sims died in July last year, at the age of 71, after a prolonged bout of ill heath.

She was the longest-serving female member of the Carry On team, appearing in 24 of the films.

Costars Jack Douglas and Liz Fraser are among those expected to attend the unveiling of the Comic Heritage plaque on September 29.
