Zenon to teach Tom Cruise magic

Magician Paul Zenon is set to give magic lessons to Tom Cruise.

The Hollywood star called the conjuror and comedian after seeing him on TV last week.

He needs help preparing for his new film, The War Magician, and was impressed with Zenon's tricks on Channel 4.

Cruise caught the show while in Britain promoting the new Steven Spielberg film Minority Report.

Paul told The Sunday Mirror that thought it was a wind-up at first, but said: "It hit me after while that it really was Tom. I'm excited about working with him."

Cruise has offered to fly him out to the US, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

In The War Magician, Cruise stars as a stage illusionist who baffles the Nazis with spectacular tricks, including making the Suez Canal disappear and creating a phantom army. It is based on a true story.
