Maim that tune

Skinner 'plans covers album'

Frank Skinner has reportedly been taking singing lessons in preparation for an album release.

The comic displays his vocal talents in almost every TV show - from singing the Funtime Frankie theme tune to his chat show to his spontaneous renditionings of classic tunes at the end of Baddiel and Skinner Unplanned.

But he feels his singing voice needs a little work, so has been receiving weekly lessons for the past six months, The Sunday People reports.

The paper says Frank, a devoted Elvis Fan, is hoping the tuition will help his plans to release an album of cover versions for Christmas.

He is also said to be trying to rope in Ian Broudie, the Lightning Seeds singer who co-wrote football anthem Three Lions with him and Baddiel, to help with the CD.

But Skinner's agents have denied the story.
