The Paramount Comedy Channel is backing a series of student comedy nights.

Fifteen universities, including Keele, Hull and Queens' University Belfast, will host the Comedy On Tap nights, featuring new and established acts, arranged by comedy agency Off the Kerb.

Comedians taking part include Jason John Whitehead, Brendon Burns, Nina Conti and Gavin Webster.

The gigs will form part of the freshers' events at participating students' unions when term starts in the autumn.
