O'Grady back home

Savage creator recovering well

Lily Savage creator Paul O'Grady has left hospital after treatment for his heart attack.

He was discharged from hospital on Friday, six days after the cardiac at his London home.

The 46-year-old comic had amazed doctors with his speedy recovery.

A spokesman said: "No one can believe it is only a few days since this happened but he is back at home already where he is recuperating.

"The doctors are very pleased with his progress and although he will have to go back to hospital for a check-up, he should be fine now so long as he takes it easy."

The Blankety Blank star was taken to hospital in the early hours of Friday morning last week after suffering chest pains at his home near Tower Bridge.

He underwent a two-hour angioplasty, in which a constricted artery is widened with a tiny balloon.

His agent Brendan Murphy has said the shock illness would mean big changes to his heavy workload: "He is obviously going to have to make some huge adjustments. It is too early to say what but there are no long-term plans."
