In for the Count

Arthur Strong lands radio show

Character comic Steve Delaney is to host a radio series in the guise of ageing thespian Count Arthur Strong.

The 15-minute programmes - Down Memory Lane - will go out during Jo Brand's weekly show on BBC London 94.9 from June 9.

Delaney is also collaborating with comic Terry Kilkelly, who performs in character as Terry Titter, for a half-hour sitcom.

The BBC's head of comedy, John Plowman, has commissioned the pair to write a pilot episode featuring both their creations, which is said to be close to completion.

If this wasn't enough, they are also developing a quiz show for BBC Choice.

Count Arthur will be back in Edinburgh this summer with his show Forgotten Egypt.
