C4 breakfast show seeks comics

Another TV channel is hunting for fresh comedy talent.

Channel 4's new breakfast TV show Rise is on the look-out for comic characters.

Producers have posted a message on C4's web forum - Reach 4 - asking for videos to be sent in.

The message says: "The comedy team at the new Channel 4 Breakfast Show are looking for new comedy talent. If you have a comedy character that you would like to share with the nation, please send a VHS ASAP to Gill Isles, Comedy Research,
Unit 4 BSkyB, Grant Way, Isleworth, Middlesex, TW7 5QD."

Rise, which launches later this month, replaces The Big Breakfast, and will be presented by Sky Sports host Kirsty Gallacher.

Channel 4 already sponsors the well-established So You Think You're Funny competition for new stand-ups.
