Ant and Dec star in sitcom remake

Ant and Dec are to star in a remake of The Likely Lads.

They will take the roles of Bob and Terry, originally played by Rodney Bewes and James Bolam when it ran on BBC1 from 1964 to 1973.

Ant McPartlin, w ho will play shirker Terry, told The Sun: "When Dec and I first moved to London and shared a flat, we had Likely Lads nights. We've been fans all our lives."

In the pilot ITV episode, a remake of a1973 classic, the duo spend all day trying to avoid hearing the result of an football match so they can watch it on TV.

Rob Clark, of Ginger TV said: "Ant and Dec are the 21st century's Bob and Terry."

Rodney Bewes, who will have a cameo role in the remake, said: "I couldn't miss this - it's a very clever idea."
