Dodd returns to ITV

Solo show part of 2002 schedule

Ken Dodd is to ace an audience of celebrities for another An Audience With programme.

The occassional ITV series dates back 21 years, with previously stars including Billy Connolly, Dame Edna Everage, Kenneth Williams and Freddie Starr.

Brian Conley will also be the subject of a future show.

Dodd recorded his original An Audience With in 1994.

The news came as ITV unveiled its programme strategy for the next 12 months.

Other comedy shows in the pipeline include The All New Harry Hill Show, a broadcast of Victoria Wood's sell-out Albert Hall performances from last year, and a new animated version of Mr Bean.

Rik Mayall returns as another monstrous character to rival Alan B'Stard in a satirical sitcom Believe Nothing, written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, and Cold Feet star Fay Ripley appears in a new romantic comedy drama I Saw You.

Richard Wilson's sitcom High Stakes, animated satire 2DTV, the rustic comedy based on the H. E. Bates stories, My Uncle Silas and a final series of Cold Feet are all set to return, too.
