Gang armed with knives

Steve Coogan's parents have been robbed by a gang brandishing machetes.

Three men broke into Tony and Kathleen Coogan's home in Greater Mancherster by throwing a concrete slab through the patio doors.

They went upstairs to the couple's bedroom and forced them to hand over the keys to Mr Coogan's car.

A friend of the 35-year-old Alan Partridge creator told The Sun: "He's sickened and appalled. They are a very close-knit family."
