Fan discovers episodes though wiped

Two lost episodes of Hancock's Half-Hour have been found by a fan

The two episodes, Sid James, Dad and The New Secretary, were broadcast in 1956, but the BBC wiped the tapes

They were first broadcast in 1956 but consequently lost by the BBC.

Jeff Hammonds of the Tony Hancock Appreciation Society told The Birmingham Post: "We have been contacted by one of our members who says he has these two radio performances on tape.

"We will listen to them and see if the quality is good enough to be put onto CD."

The New Secretary was the first Hancock show in which Hattie Jacques appeared.
