Jongleurs expands

2 clubs to open, more on the way

Comedy club chain Jongleurs is to open its first clubs outside England next month.

New venues will open in Glasgow and Cardiff on January 11, bringing the number of clubs under the brand to 12

Jongleurs talent scouts held a number of try-out nights in Scotland in a seach for local comics to add to their bill.

The chain is also planning venues in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Swindon and Reading.

Parent company Regent Inns has also brought the lease on the former Home superclub in London's Leicester Square, where it intends to create two more Jongleurs clubs.

It has three existing clubs in London, plus Southampton, Portsmouth, Oxford, Leicester, Nottingham, Manchester and Watford.
