Gum leaves bad taste

Joly raps rip-off ads

Dom Joly says he's annoyed with the chewing gum ads that ripped off Trigger Happy TV.

Wrigley's sent him the script for the adverts, but went ahead anyway when he turned them down.

"They did it anyway without me," he said.

" It irritates me, because I don't think it's very well done, and it isn't very funny. But it shows everyone how hard it is to do properly."

Joly also revealed that the Christmas editions of Trigger Happy TV might not be the last after all in an interview with Heat magazine

The prankster is killing off many of the characters in the two-part special, so he can concentrate on a chat show spoof.

But he said: "We do recognise the possibility that if we go off and do something else that ends up a complete disaster, then we might be all-too happy to go back on our word and do more.

He has recorded a pilot of the new show, called Dead Air, which featured The Cure as a house band and an interview with Melanie Blatt.
