The nominees in this year's British Comedy Awards - the 12th - have been announced.

Cold Feet dominates the shortlist, being in the running for three awards, including Best TV Comedy Drama.

BBC2's fledgling The Office has come up trumps with a clutch of nominations in several categories: the show's Mackenzie Crook is up against Lee Mack from The Sketch Show and Happiness's Johnny Vegas for Best Comedy Newcomer, and the show is also up for Best New TV Comedy and Best TV Comedy.
