Getting away with it

No rap for Norton's sex site stunt

Graham Norton has escaped censure after visiting a website apparently showing a woman playing a musical instrument with her vagina.

Sixteen people complained to the Broadcasting Standards Commission after the item on his Channel 4 show in March.

Norton visited the website Pipes of Pam: Music for You when Lulu was a guest on the show.

'Brief and fleeting' pictures of the woman were shown on a computer screen, but nothing could be seen clearly, Channel 4 claimed.

The director also cut away at crucial moment, before the tune God Save The Queen came from the site.

Channel 4 also argued that Pam did not play the pipe with her vagina at all, as it would have been physically impossible.

Commissioners agreed that the item was entirely in keeping with the spirit of the late-night show, which was preceded by a clear warning about its content. The complaints were not upheld.
