Girls' night out

Comics feature in lesbian showcase

Comics Julia Morris, Shappi Khorshandi, Jovannka Steele, Amanda Baker and Kate Copstick are among those performing in Britain's largest lesbian show next month.

Around 2,000 people are expected to attend Girls on Tour, which will also feature music, drama, dance DJs and an auction of celebrity goodies.

The show takes place on Sunday July 22 at The London Astoria, and is expected to be the first of a number of biannual events. More showcases are planned for other UK cities, too.

A spokesman for organisers Tribe 8 Industry said: "Girls on Tour will give girls a chance to perform in a venue that they deserve, while offering audiences a high-quality all-girl experience. The event focuses on presenting positive images for lesbians by lesbians especially within the music industry."

Tickets, priced £10 in advance, are available from the Astoria box office on 020 7434 9592.
