Steve Hall

Steve Hall

Steve Hall joined the stand-up circuit in 2002, where he made the final of the Daily Telegraph Open Mic Award. The following year, he was runner-up in the BBC New Comedy Awards.

As well as performing his own stand-up, Hall is also part of the knockabout sketch group We Are Klang alongside Greg Davies and Marek Larwood, who were nominated for the 2006 if.comedy award for their third Edinburgh show.

However, Hall did not make his own solo Edinburgh debut until 2008, with the show Vice Captain Loser.

Return of the Klang

Trio's second BBC Three show

We Are Klang have recorded a new variety show for BBC Three.

The Klang Show is the second attempt for the anarchic trio to crack TV, ater their self-titled zany sitcom last year divided audiences and critics.

The new show promises a ‘celebration of silliness, with inane songs, bizarre slapstick, surreal sketches and daft new characters.’

Sketches to be performed by Greg Davies, Steve Hall and Marek Larwood include sock puppets being sick and controversial club circuit favourite Donkey Dunkirk, whose act involves dressing a donkey in a Nazi uniform and then punching it out cold.

The pilot will air on August 16 – but will be online from next Monday; one of three pilots the station is premiering on the internet.

The first show, Inn Mates, is based around a pub and marks Neil Morrissey’s return to sitcom after a six-year absence.

He plays Brian, a gay sperm donor tracked down by one of his IVF offspring – who then tries to emotionally blackmail him into being a proper father. The son is played by Joe Tracini, the son of Joe Pasquale who recently starred in Coming of Age.

That show was written by John Warburton, a tabloid journalist-turned-comic who went through the BBC’s College Of Comedy. It is on the BBC Three Blog now.

The third new pilot is The Adventures Of Daniel, starring19-year-old Scottish stand-up Daniel Sloss, and based on his life. That will be online from August 16,

Earlier this year, BBC Three published its pilots Pulse, Stanley Park and Dappers online before their television premieres.
