Stanley McHale Stanley McHale

An extremely personable performer, McHale easily establishes a great rapport with even the most standoffish of audiences.

His material is variable, though his vibrant performer always gets the most out of it.

The act kicks off with a brief series of impressions, using the time-honoured 'Wouldn't it be funny if George from Rainbow was at a late-night garage' type of scenarios, before switching to reasonably amusing observational routines, and ultimately, some broad physical humour.

In terms of his range, this certainly makes him an all-round entertainer.

And if there's one thing the comedy circuit needs, it's more people miming to Grieg concertos - and even that's in McHale's likeable, wide-ranging act - and it features a fine pay-off.

His finale - in which he dances a very literal interpretation of the lyrics to I Am The Walrus - is infectiously funny, even if it is a little too reminiscent of Lee Evans's similar take on Bohemian Rhapsody.
