Original Review:
‘Hello, my name is Stuart, and I’ve got problems.’ So Hudson sets up his sociopathic stage persona - a deranged stalker-stoke-flasher who’s just as likely stab you as pass the time of day.He looks the part, too, physically imposing but shabby and unkempt, with a killer’s air of detachment from society. You can almost believe his claims to have come straight out of jail.
He’s not the first comic to take the stand-up’s default position as the outsider and push it to the extremes of criminal immorality, and because of that, some of his lines seem obvious and predictable – from the ‘…and so I stabbed her’ punchline to the restraining orders from the reluctant object of his obsessive interest.
His emotionally distant stance – though crucial to the sinister image he’s projecting – does him no favours either, presenting an almost insurmountable barrier between him and the audience.
But Hudson partially overcomes these self-imposed handicaps with some sterling material. Not quite consistently, but there are enough dark asides and unpredictable puns adorning the moody patter to demonstrate plenty of potential as a writer. They don’t always get the reaction they deserve, such is the cold exterior, but the best are certainly of a quality many a comic would envy.
A mixed bag, then, of the inspired and the mundane – if anyone posing as a recently-released life could be described that way – but he has more than enough imaginative lines to be worth a listen. Date of review: May 2007

saw him on Saturday at Leicester Square Theatre... felt sorry for him he absolutely died on stage. About as funny as arse cancer

Very funny and getting better with each show. Should see a lot more of him at clubs and in the media.

This guy is great. Really great. Some brilliant gags. I was surprised to see a few negative comments on here but then I realised they're from 1-2 years ago. I saw him very recently and he had the audience in the palm of his hand. No one heckled cos no one would want to - we just wanted to hear more and more jokes! Clearly one comedian who's going places

Saw him at Bournemouth COedy Club in June, he was fantastic, the best I have ever seen live. He is very dark and really caters for the sickness in us all! He is well worth watching, quite unique style and his timing is brilliant, We were on a stag night of about 30 lads and we all thought he was brilliant - Got to see him again. Cheers Stuart

I saw him perform at the comedy cafe last night and he was dreadful. His material was shallow and honestly quite unfunny. The more he felt he was losing the audience the worst his act got. He was heckled to leave the stage, and he did not now how to deal with it. Very very average. Id like to see if this is his normal performance or he just had a particularly bad night.

Genius, kept me waiting for the next line. Why isn't he appearing on mainstream TV?

A lot of comics have some very dark material but there are very few with the courage to fashion a whole act out of it or the personality and delivery to pull it off onstage. Could well be a big name someday.

Saw him at Banana Cabaret recently and I'm afraid it was quite an awkward watch. A girl heckled him saying he was a 'cheap laugh' and he didnt really know how to handle it at all. Quite uninspiring and a shame given the quality of the rest of the acts that night. Felt quite sorry for him really.

Funny, with a great dead-pan delivery. He should be on TV.
