Romesh Ranganathan was nominated for best show at the 2014 Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Awards, a year after being shortlisted for best newcomer. He was also nominated for the breakthrough award in the 2014 Chortle Awards.

Earlier in his career he was a finalist in So You Think You're Funny 2010 and winner of Leicester Mercury Comedian Of The Year 2013.

Romesh Ranganathan to host more Weakest Links

Series to return later this year – including a comedians' special

Romesh Ranganathan is to host a fourth series of The Weakest Link later this year, the BBC have announced.

The celebrity quiz show will  feature a number of themed episodes including Strictly Come Dancing, comedians, Gladiators, and duos in the next run.

The show is currently averaging 3.5million viewers within 28 days of each episode’s release,  peaking at 4.4 3.5million for the EastEnders special.

Ranganathan said: ‘It’s really a delight to be part of the BBC One Saturday night experience. I once again look forward to taking the credit if it goes well and blaming the format if it doesn’t.’

The new series begins filming in Glasgow this spring.
