Pommy is a god. Shame on you for making him look bad like this. Those who review, can't perform. To the reviewer, you're a fucking dipshit for trying to celebrate thespian alternative bullshit. The job of the comedian is to make people laugh. He's an entertaining individual, one of the best acts I've seen, admittedly his jokes are of the dinosaur nature. But he's good at doing it because he invented it. You know how many hacks i've seen try to copy Pommy Johnson? Chortle often has shit-for-brain reviewers. I suppose the key is to try to ignore this bullshit, although it's a shame people read your scunjy overrated site. To the reviewer...you're only here because someone hasn't insulted you enough to go cry back to your pompous Oxfordian literate British asshole friends who will tell you it's ok that you're mother has foot-and-mouth disease. Eat shit and die (metaphorically) you thespian vegan fuckwit.

Every time I have worked with Pommy he has kicked ass. The crowd love him and his material. He is professional and pleasant to work with. So what if he doesn't flail his arms about and talk about butterflies and surreal artsy crap. He is funny, and just as interesting as any other comic I've seen, and I've seen thousands.

I have worked with Pommy either on the circuit or private gigs for close on 9 years in that time I can honestly say I have not once seen him die on stage and not once has the audience not embraced him. Different strokes for different folks. Pommy wins hands down on the laughometer!

I saw Pommy at Urban Central. I thought he was fab. Made the audience laugh their arses off. He obviously was the best comedian of the night.

I've been living in Melbourne for a year now and I have to say that the Chortle review is utter bullsh*t. I'm a huge Pommy Johnson fan, and even if I wasn't, I've seen him blow the roof off every gig of his I've attended, which is as many as I can see. I've seen dozens of "new wave", "next gen" and "surreal" comics that you guys love and that can barely make a room fart let alone laugh like Pommy can. His job is to make punters laugh and he fucking does it with bells on! Is his stuff political and insightful? I wouldn't say so, but is it homophobic, racist, and abusive? Never mats?) and he hams up the northern thing way too much (I'm from Manchester). On the other hand I've never watched his standup, Phoenix Nights or Max and Paddy without laughing. Go figure, huh.

I saw Pommy at the Emporium in Fleet, Hampshire a few months back. We all loved him; very original, involved the crowd, kept us on our toes and didn't give us time to breathe with our non-stop laughter. We'd welcome him back anytime, a damn funny Aussie who won our approval.
