Irish-Iranian Patrick Monahan is all generous bonhomie, making the audience feel warm and toasty as he liberally spreads the goodwill like a professional meeter and greeter. But everything he said is so forgettable, I had to refer to the footage to remind myself of his material just a few hours after the show.

There’s a bit of bar-room banter about ‘who would you rather sleep with…’, an unlikely premise that Mujahideen is a Scandinavian brand of food processor and some lightweight comments about women’s magazines such as Chat.

A couple of good gags lie within, but it’s mainly banter – unmemorable, but sure to cheer you up.

Saw Patrick on sunday night in Bromsgrove pure talent cant wait for his next show

Saw this guy in Bristol last night and was hugely disappointed after all of the hype. Spent the entire first act milking the misfortunes of the first few rows and attempted to turn this into a material. This worked for the first ten minutes but the repetitive nature of his approach wore thin as did the initial rounds of the applause. In total he attempted three jokes/anecdotes in that time each of which fell flat with no obvious punchline. Possibly his second act was better but by then I was on my home. I certainly won't go out of my way to watch this guy in any format in the future.

I just love self appointed comedy critics don't you? I was at Bloomsbury and saw a different gig.So did the people I followed out who'd had an excellent night.I NEVER cease to be amazed by self appointed critics. AMAZING!

I saw him in the oddest of places, doing comedy in a leisure centre in Leicester as part of the 2011 comedy fest. He was very funny, animated and he really got the crowd on his side. Lovely bloke too. That usually helps.

Saw Patrick compere at Late n Live at the Edinburgh festival and he's awesome! Best comic on the night by far. Went to his adult show the following day and he didn't disapoint. He didn't repeat any of his jokes from Late n Live and was even more awesome. One to watch for the future. Looking forward to him touring in my area

Patrick at Eden Court Theatre Inverness was most certainly the best act of the trio of comedians on the night. Good rapport with his audience and lifted the evening and steered it away from being a mediocre gig. A comedian to watch in the future.
