Born and bred in Sunderland, Mat Reed started comedy in 2001 as half of the double act Mat & Faron with Faron Smith. And as a solo act, he made the finals of the Daily Telegraph Open mic award in 2002 and of the Leicester Comedian of the Year contest the following year.

I like most Geordie comedians (not biased being as I'm Geordie born) Northern comics generally have good craic. Matt's not the regions best but he's not the worst by a long shot. Has a slight air of arrogance about him.

Saw Matt for the first time in Cardiff he was good & the second time this year in Liverpool he was even funnier second time around. He giggles like a girl and he loves female attention. He flirted with me and my friend all night during and after the show. Could say he nailed it. Look forward to number 3. Becky.

Saw Matt on a hen night in Cardiff in Oct 2011. He's good. Loves the ladies attention, a bit too much. Very flirtatious & played the audience banter card a bit too long. I'd prefer to hear more jokes & less audience participation next time. As it's the comics we pay to watch.
