Saw him at Hyena in Newcastle. He was funny - but not 'big bellylaugh' funny. And it can't have been easy being the first act of the night. Maybe we were all a bit to sober! I'd definitely see him again. Iain, August 2003 |

Rather good. An understated presence with some nice lines and a nice chap to boot. Dan Smith, February 2003 |
A lovely and modest bloke, a gently subversive comedian, and a fine act. Silky, October 2002 |
I've seen Mike numerous times. He's an innovative comic, who is never afraid to try new material. His fairground routine is inspired. Django, September 2002 |
An intelligent observational comic Andy H, September 2002 |

A prime example of everything that's wrong with modern-day stand-up comedy. Soulless, completely bereft of charisma and about as much life as a fucking sock - Michael Tombs's act seemed to consist of "My girlfriend left me and loads of funny stuff happened.." type schtick and self-harm inducing "observations." He even did the gag about "Have you ever noticed how people always say, "It's always in the last place you look." Who is this guy? Tom O' Connor? Stef Allardyce, August 2002 |
