What a loss, I can't believe that someone so clever, so inventive, so funny, has gone. She's had me in tears of laughter so many times... I never thought I'd cry for her loss. Tom Campbell, March 2006 |

It was a huge shock to learn of Linda's death. I can't tell you how much her wit and unique style has shored me up over the years. she never failed to leave the listener with a smile on their face and giggling at her weeks discourse over and over again. Fiona Kennedy, March 2006 |

How I wish we had all told Linda when she was alive, told her how funny we think she is and told her how much we love her. Elisabeth Matell, March 2006 |

You know this hasn't happened to me before. I've never felt real sadness when I've heard the announcement of someone 'famous' dying. But Linda Smith was the antithesis of someone famous - an antihero. She was a welcome guest in so many houses. Her voice and cutting realism made radio worth listening to. I hope her family can take some comfort from the knowledge that she really was loved by millions upon millions of people. Its a cliche but in this case so so true, she will be dearly missed Wayne Cardiff, March 2006 |

She just had the knack of saying it like it was, in the very funniest way. So so sad and sorry. Charlotte, March 2006 |

A terrible loss to all comedy fans, my thoughts are with her friends and family. Mike Jones, March 2006 |
