Linda was a true, genuine comedian who could make me laugh like a drain and see the pointless absurdities of life for what they are. Very sad tonight. RIP. Rob, February 2006 |

She'll be greatly missed. Always enjoyed her contribution to Just a Minute. Jan Hill, February 2006 |

So upset at hearing of her death - I hope she was as happy in her life as she was funny in her work. Best wishes to all those who actually knew her - this must be so very hard for you. Lori Hilson, February 2006 |

As an ex-pat Brit living in America, My appreciation of Linda Smith's delivery of her homespun cynicism and innate sense of the ridiculous, will keep me listening to her for as long as she cares to perform. Long may you punch holes in the pompousness and self importance of our so-called "leading lights", Linda. [Anon], January 2006 |

Linda is excellent; she lights up any programme upon which she appears (radio or TV) with her sharp wit. She is one of the few - the very few - people with "Sarf London" accents I can bear to listen to. Dave Skuse, December 2005 |

If you ever had the misfortune to be dragged along by a party to a dinner party in Islington, I imagine that Linda Smith would be the typical of the other guests. Unfunny, whining and boringly socialist. It would be yet another contributary factor to the fact that this would be your last ever date with said partner. Depressingly like so many other "comedians", Linda Smith seems to think that making jokes about Americans and George Bush is hysterically funny. Its not, its been done to death. The two truisms in comedy are that neither Scousers nor Linda Smith are funny Andy Thompson, August 2005 |

Timing and content is everything, she has it in bundles. Smart, works well with other comedians on the radio. Ojne of the main reasons I listen to the BBC from America Michael Gale, July 2005 |

Linda Smith is brilliant. I heard her for the first time on BBC7 - she has talent and makes me laugh. She's great. Lloyd Walters, April 2005 |
