Our deepest sympathies to Linda's partner and an expression of our shock and sense of loss at losing one of Britain's funniest ladies. Somehow Radio 4 will feel empty now Andy & Steve, February 2006 |

Sad to hear of Linda's death from cancer today. Comedy, and our lives will be poorer for losing her wry wit. A very, very funny lady who will be sadly missed by me, and I suspect many other Meurig, February 2006 |

So sad, her death.Ishall miss her Rosie T, February 2006 |

I'm devastated... She was the funniest woman I've ever heard DS, February 2006 |

She made me cry with laughter, I now cry with sadness John Wright, February 2006 |

I've just read the news of her untimely death. I'm very bad at remembering the names of people I hear on the radio, but when I heard Linda Smith I vowed to pay attention at the end of the programme and find out who she was. She stood out among her peers for her spot-on parodies of modern life, which will be poorer without her. RIP. Tom Boddington, February 2006 |

So sad to hear about Linda, she had wonderful timing, but this time she was too too early. Roger Williams, February 2006 |

So so very sorry and sad to hear that she has died. My thoughts are with her friends and family Marilena Barrett, February 2006 |
