Why oh why! Life just not fair - Linda brought a smile into all our lives

Ron Phillips, March 2006

I was very saddened to read about the passing of Linda Smith. She was my favourite "Just A Minute" panellist, and I also enjoyed her contributions in "I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue", both of which I listen to online from here in Canada. I had no idea she had been battling cancer, and it's really a great loss. To die at such a young age is really, really tragic. And comic talent like hers is very rare these days. God bless you Linda, and rest in peace. You will be sadly missed by me and many others.

E. Jumean, March 2006

I just heard of the death of the beautiful-to-the-core Linda Smith. So sad at such a loss. A wonderful mind and sense of integrity and justice. I feel awful and empty inside of me. I live a long way away in Australia but my heart is heavy with such a waste of beauty.

Virginia Waldron, March 2006

I had no idea.... She was brilliant. So sad

Linda, March 2006

Only heard of it today. Could not believe it. Very upsetting. A huge loss and she will be missed

Richard Anstey, March 2006

Oddly for me, I found myself walking up to her after a show and introducing myself and thanking her for making me laugh so much. She seemed and was so approachable. Thanks again Linda.

David Reid, March 2006

So, so sad. Cannot express how gutted I am. I was lucky enough to see her at the recording of Clue singing Psycho Killer by Talking Heads to the tune of save your love by Rene and Renata. I wept with laughter like never before. Listened to it again last night and couldn't stop crying but this time with sadness . Huge loss

Clara, March 2006

Reading of her death all I could repeat was "No, no, no", the only response to the passing of someone whose presence on any programme always provoked a huge, ecstatic, "yes", she was a gem.

Liz, March 2006
