I saw Karen at a corporate event for Bosch. She delivered a very funny set in a difficult environment.Very enjoyable.
Stephen Hobbs - 31/12/2009
Loud, brash and rather dull! Bog standard material with lazy put-downs. Production line just-done-a-comedy course performer.
anon - 21/12/2008
A very predictable set with jokes which are easily forgotten about. Not bad but then again have seen much better.
Michael Monkhouse - 03/10/2007
Her subject matter embraces SatNav devices (the obvious men v. women number), kebabs, Big Brother, Poundstrechers, tampons… Hardly straining the leash of comedy creativity. But forget the hackneyed subjects, it’s how you treat ’em that counts. And Karen’s treatment is pretty damn fine. She’s as jeering as Jo Brand, as helter-skelter as Helen Lederer and as jolly silly as Jennifer Saunders. Banal but ball-busting, tight but flexible, fast and funny, Karen knows what she’s doing. And if you know what you’re doing you’ll look out for her.

Funny is funny, I saw Karen at Jongleurs last night and she ripped it. She had me in stitches, along with the mass of drunken, inflatable cocked hens and stags, which is no mean feat with their goldfish-like attention span
Lee Worsley - 06/07/2006
Funny but not spectacular, chuckles but not belly laughter, good but not great. I would happily see her again in a comedy club setting with other comics on the bill. I agree with the review, such promise, such stage presence, so good at putting down hecklers, great delivery, shame the hack material descends to sterotypical tampon gags. Average/Quite good 6/10.

Very talented and always brings the roof off. Brilliant. One of the best around
Marissa - 24/02/2006
Reasonable compere. Warms the crowd up without being overstated. Maybe a bit predictable.
David Honan - 11/02/2006
I've never found female comics that funny till I saw Karen at Alexanders, Chester. She was great, handled hecklers with aplomb, the crowd loved here, awesome
Colin Fry - 14/01/2006
One of my fave comics on the circuit at the moment. Always a pleasure
Marc - 29/12/2005
Brilliant
Su Andersson - 20/12/2005
In one word "boring", in three words "boring and predictable" - a fifth rate Jo Enright/Susan Murray.
Delboy - 05/11/2005
Karen is solid, professional, and funny
Carly Carousel - 29/10/2005
Ive seen Karen many times, I find her new and original and always hits the spot. She is pushing female comedians to a new level, equalling the male to female ratio. Men can be crude, why not women?
Katrina Salter - 28/10/2005
She is an incredibly gifted female comic and her comic timing was the best I've seen in a long time - keep it up Karen.
Rebecca D - 25/10/2005
I have seen her many times over the years and it appears to be shock value over actual humour. I do like her routines about her Midlands upbringing but jokes about defecating in a shower don't amuse me. Sorry.
Maire Wells - 29/09/2005
Another excellent comedian from the Midlands. They breed them with the ability to transcend both circuits up there and Karen looks like she'd be more at home (and making more money!) on the club circuit but she's a good entertainer. I really enjoyed her. She's just like Marti Caine.
Seb Le Maistre - 11/09/2005
Karen is so original, no-one has ever done material like her - Brummies having unsexy accents (wait for the killer punchline!), vibrators and pound shops. Why has she not got her own Channel 4 show yet?
Barry Dodds - 12/04/2005
A joy to watch, seen her tear the arse out of so many rooms, really good.
Wayne Williams - 10/09/2004
Karen Bayley ripped the room up at Ribbed, Crewe. She delivered some great material which was still funny to me after seeing her do her "Happy Hour" show in Edinburgh with Susan Murray.
John Knight - 20/08/2004
About as funny as cancer
Jamie Goodwin - 01/05/2004
Stormed the place, we had so many requests to bring her back! Fantastic all round.
Matt Bowman - 17/03/2004
Well I saw Karen just over a week ago and thought she was superb. Very funny material not only did she waken up a dead audience but she got a laugh out of almost every punchline. A very funny lady and a complete professional.
Nik Hill - 03/03/2004
Karen rescued a dire night at The Guildhall last night, always comes through with good stuff.
Mary Bouke - 13/12/2003
I've seen her work really rough crowds and rock the house
Anthony Miller - 10/12/2003
Not being one of the Birmingham love triangle I think I can say (without bias) that having watched Ms. Bayley doing 20 there were parts I vividly remembered - the Tortoise for example... which is more than can be said for a lot of sets I've sat out. Too mainstream for my tastes but the audience was in the palm of her hand and even this ape-like idiot creature was amused by the sick kitten. Though I'm not sure that's a positive recommendation....
James Cook - 09/07/2003
And another bloody thing, what is it you guys have against jokes about vibrators? Karen's material is very much her own and funny - and yet just because she mentions vibrators all the comedy snob know-nothing motherfuckers have a go at her for being a hack. Please also extend the same courtesy to the male comics who talk about wanking, Star Wars etc. You sexists.
John - 25/06/2003
One of the most frustrating acts I've seen. Has two or three really good ideas that show talent and promise followed by the hackest material you've ever heard. Seems to think she's al ot better than she actually is, and could possibly be if she put abit of effort into her act instead of going for the cheap and easy option.
Dan Willis - 06/06/2003
I think she's rather good. Highly confident, full of enthusiasm and willing to battle for the cause...
James Cook - 12/05/2003
An incredibly gifted comic performer, whose delivery and stage-presence has soared over the past 12 months to the point where she can hold her own in front of the rowdiest of audiences alongside the most experienced of acts.
Robin Brian - 30/11/-0001
I saw her at the K Bar in Bournemouth. Generally she did very well but there was definately a few older jokes thrown in, as well as some leadingly obvious punch lines. Overall a crowd pleaser but definately didn't compare to the other acts on the bill
