John Ryan joins Men's Radio Station

Comic to host show with mental health focus

Stand-up John Ryan is to front a new show on Men’s Radio Station.

The comic and mental health advocate will host a weekly discussion slot on the digital channel from June 7, with fellow comic Dominic Holland as  first guest.

Like the rest of the station’s output, the focus will be on promoting positive messages and encouraging mental well-being.

His show will be sponsored by roadmarking contractor WJ, whose marketing manager Rob Elsby said: ‘John has worked with us over a number of years, and we feel his upbeat groundbreaking style will really get people talking.’

Ryan, who has a background in community care and a master’s degree in health will be hosting a live show on Monday nights at 7pm,  with a repeat at 7am. It will also be available as a podcast.

Ryan is not the only comedy name linked to the web-based station as Jongleurs founder Maria Kempinska also hosts a show, called Know Your Therapy.

Men’s Radio Station was set up by  former Capital Radio  ‘Flying Eye’ Russ Kane and Howard Jameson, who co-founded the Jermyn Street Theatre in Central London.
