The marvelous double H is a Master (Mistress?) of making her act seem ad-lib and scatty, yet she knows exactly where she's going. Spike Milligan could confound his audience, too, and he was also a genius!

James Harrington, March 2003

If you're on Hattie's wavelength she's a charming performer - but her act always seems a bit incoherent and unstructured to me (and I don't think I'm talking about her stage persona - her set really doesn't seem to go anywhere).

Pete, February 2003

She's superb. And I disagree with one of the other comments about her staring into space - that's what makes her so funny.

Dylan Stone, February 2003

Has she stopped the 'staring like a half-wit into space' palaver yet? If so, then I'll trek to see her. If she's still staring, then evidently its due to a lack of decent female stand-ups in the 80s that she made it anywhere.

Microsoftie, November 2002

Some women defy the argument that women cannot be funny. Others, like Hattie Hayridge, seem hell-bent on stopping mankind ever wanting to see another female comic within a five mile radius of a microphone.

Mark Perros, November 2002
