Saw Hils on Thursday, she was amazing. Intelligent humour without the arrogance of other "intellectual" comics and hilarious to boot!

Interesting comments but I'm quite simply a fan. Original slant on current affairs, slick rapport with the hecklers, nifty use of music to spice up the tired old stand-up format. You couldn't wish for more. I couldn't anyway.

Hilarious - had the whole audience in hysterics at Laugh it Up. Good mix of topical observations, brilliantly performed songs, heck even her outfit was amusing (sorta Sainsbury's blouse meets Asian skirt/trouser combo topped off with delightfully chav red pvc 12" high belt) not easy to carry off when you're 5ft nothing - thanks again for an exceptionally entertaining set

Hils compered for me last night against a pretty tough crowd and pulled the gig round with much aplomb. Without wishing to sound patronising, which I will, I think she has so much potential that she could go wherever she wants to in comedy.

She was a breath of fresh air. Definately recommended. Her \"We are Londoners\" gag was great.
Steve Gonzalez - 29/10/2005
Hil's Irish folk parody is great, it completely fooled the audience, and her Bruce Springsteen parody is getting better all the time.
Dan T - 03/03/2005
It's the same old routines, same old jokes, same old targets, but she's quite pretty and posh and does have a nice line in not looking like she thinks she's too great. So quite inoffensive and mildly diverting.
R Smith - 01/03/2005
Terrible, terrible, terrible - say her recently and she totally died
Anne Brown - 27/02/2005
I watched her completely die on her arse at the Queens Arms, Leeds. Completely painful experience. It is 2005 and she is still doing the same Daily Mail and Switz refugee routine.
David Shortfuse - 03/12/2004
My favourite female comic on the circuit and right up there with Bill Bailey for comical songs.
Randy - 14/11/2004
Wasn't impressed at all, sounds like she does the same routine at every gig.
Sparky - 04/08/2004
Not very funny at all. Surely I'm not alone in thinking this?
John Breakwell - 17/07/2004
Marvellous. Very entertaining.
Liam Mullone - 20/05/2004
Hils is ace and becoming ever acer. Like the 78rpm song best.
Chris Brooker - 20/12/2003
Brilliant.
Geoff Taylor - 21/10/2003
Right up my street. Hils was clever and silly in equal measure and quite up to the task of dealing with a stand-offish crowd. Funny songs, too. I loved the whole set.
Wayne Williams - 11/10/2003
Really, really funny.
Faron - 20/05/2003
Ms. Barker lights the way ahead for female stand-up comedy. A mould-breaker without a doubt. Respect!
Thom Gordon - 18/03/2003
I saw her in Plymouth and was well entertained. Highly recomended.
Bernd Schlarmann - 27/02/2003
She was great in Berlin
John Cooper - 13/11/2002
I've seen Hils Barker several times. She always has brilliant material.
Ben - 20/10/2002
She could do with writing some new material. I first saw her three years ago and she's still doing all the old stuff, even a dated gag about the band Cornershop. Her Hugh Grant-type delivery can get tedious after a while too.
M Reed - 06/10/2002
Always a quality assured and confident act. Loved it to bits.
Gareth Wilson - 01/10/2002
Ace
Alex Musson - 19/08/2002
I saw Hils in Edinburgh last week and she was rocking the joint; confident, sharp and very funny indeed. Her material was the high watermark in all the gigs I saw, and made me take a good hard look at my own stuff.
Zia - 02/08/2002
As Daily Mail readers my wife and I were DISGUSTED and APPALLED at the accuracy of her piss-takes.
Matt Forde - 30/07/2002
Simply fab and brill!
Anna Morell - 05/07/2002
Cool, assured performer. Girly and cutting by turn, she's a guffaw-worthy guitarist and does acoustic numbers like the Smack the Pony girls' show-closers, only Hils does them much much better.
