Greg Burns has been working on the UK comedy circuit since 1998, and is the resident Thursday night resident compere at Lee Hurst’s Backyard Comedy Club. But he is better known as a radio DJ. After four years at Heart 106.2FM, as host of the drivetime show, Greg has recently joined Virgin Radio as their Sunday afternoon host.
He has also appeared in stand-up shows on the BBC and Paramount Comedy… but the appreatance he is most proud of is playing himself in the Christmas special of The Office
Burns is also an ambassador for the Global Angels charity and often hosts fund-raising evenings for them.

Saw Greg headlining at the Amused Moose in Soho on Saturday and he was brilliant. Really owned the room and ended everyone's night on a high. Top man.

I saw him compering Jongleurs this weekend and he bombed, a really rowdy room and he looked lost and scared! He clearly sees himself as too good for the comedy circuit - this is quite clear to see during his time on stage. Although his material really isn't good enough. He has been lucky enough to land some good radio jobs, but he really is not a good stand up comic.

Old over-used material that is not even told well. Very over-rated and he was very smug! Nothing defining here

He's got some funny stuff but he doesn't rotate his gags often enough and he can be compared to a broken record. After a while I found myself zoning out of what he was saying and was actually a bit bored.

Glad to see he's back doing Thursdays at Backyard. Been a regular for last few years. Always a great night. Funny, fast thinking guy. Really enjoyed.

I saw him compering at the Comedy Store and thought him bland bland bland. And smug. Although I wanted to find a better word than that because the last comment had used it...but it's the perfect word. So there we are. Bland. Smug.

He is funny, quick, intelligent – but be warned: if you heckle him in a nasty way be prepared to take as good as you get.

Really enjoyed his set at Rawhide on Fri, the act of the night. Come back to Liverpool soon!
Jane Lewis - 12/09/2006
Excellent. The best I've seen here in Hong Kong, and thats over five years of coming to this monthly gig at The Viceroy. All were agreed.
Jules - 17/02/2006
Very funny with some good oneliners.
Sally - 16/11/2005
Excellent, funny and fast

Awful. Tired material with a rude, smug attitude makes for a lazy, unfunny set.

Saw him compere at the Backyard last night. Absolutely hilarious! Funnier than his acts and bloody gorgeous with it
Lara - 14/02/2005
He can bring out the funny side of everyday situations - quick witted and clever with expression

A fucking excellent MC. One of the best. I've seen Greg compere twice now and he's made doing the gig a pleasure.

Was the host of The Comedy Store on my last visit there and we all agreed he was the highlight of the night. V quick thinking, hecklers stood NO chance! Very funny bloke.
Keith Rowley - 17/01/2005
Very quick, good humoured comedian. There are a lot of aggressive comics out there, so he's a bit different. 17.01.05
Patrick Whitehead - 19/11/2004
Outstanding, very funny. The crowd loved him.
Julie Finch - 27/10/2004
Seen him many times over the last year at Lee Hursts' Backyard and thought he was amazing every time. Very quick and had the audience in palm of his hand. Highly recommended.
Marabone - 02/10/2004
Made my skin crawl. A waste of time and a bit sleazy
Jamie Skip - 01/02/2004
I saw him recently at our uni bar and I thought he was brilliant. A very funny guy who uses (i think) some pretty original stuff.. .or maybe it;s just the way he performs it. Anyways, I thought he was amazing.

Absolutely terrible, really distasteful and a real mood killer
