I was actually at this gig and have to disagree with this review. It is highly unfair; Having seen Ed perform at other times, when he actually had longer than 5 minutes, wasn't unwell and wasn't trying new material, he has always been spot on! This review cannot do justice to a Ed's comic potential. I would urge everyone to actually go and see Ed perform and make up their own minds. On another matter....to call him border-line racist is in itself laughable, since he really is not at all! In fact, he is as far from racist as possible. Let's not kill a young comic's potential by judging him on this review. Make up your own mind and go see him! In fact, I would urge Chortle to go see him to a longer set and review Ed again. I'm quite sure Ed is not a racist. Just not very clever! I know many, many Polish people and they are ALL hard-working, honest and totally reliable. Making jokes about Polish people will NEVER be funny because quite simply, the audience will know better. PS - Did I say that Ed was NOT racist! GagMan, May 2007 |

I've seen this guy before and, unless he's changed his set considerably, I suspect you've seen a work in progress. James Pilkington, May 2007 |

Ed is a newer act and I was at this gig. It wasn't an easy gig and I myself breathed a sigh of relief when a few more punters showed up just before I went on. Having seen Ed do well before I know what he is capable of and I was well aware he was trying new material in a short 5 minute spot. It is a crying shame that this is the gig at which he was reviewed. Ed is not racist in anyway and yes he was trying something new that could have been misconstrued but there were some funny observations regarding the meat. I would sincerely hope that this review is not something that puts Ed off performing but merely spurs him on enabling his next review to eclipse this one and show him in a more positive light. Another classic review from Bennett, makes me want to see this guy now! Brilliant Jeff, May 2007 |

I was at this gig and have also performed with Ed many times. Therefore i feel it should be pointed out that he is not a racist person at all, in fact most of the gigs i have witnessed he has performed anti-BNP material. He only had 5 mins on stage and he was trying all new stuff + he had a very bad cold. Ed has great potential as a comic but sadly on this night it was a case of wrong place wrong time and bad luck.
