Original Review:In total contrast to his namesake – who had to subtly change his surname before finding fame with Little Britain - this stand-up has risen through the ranks of comedy without trace. He's a regular compere at Jongleurs and elsewhere, but barely registers on most stand-up fans' radars.
That's no surprise, given the blandness of his act. He's a competent MC, settling the room with confidence and authority, but instantly forgettable as he trots through the same old hosting tricks, putdowns and banter as a hundred other comperes have done before.
Though there's not a spark of originality to be seen, this journeyman does the job he's paid to do – but nothing more. Which is precisely why he's surely destined to remain in obscurity - albeit reasonably well-paid obscurity – for the rest of his career.

A highly talented and experienced comedian who can keep an audience wanting more A great mixture of wit and charisma, modest with a hint of brilliance. This guy is well worth seeing!
If he can settle a Jongleurs room with confidence and authority, that's a damn site more than most of them manage. Suggests a skill you seem grudging to acknowledge. And well done on the David Walliams reference, always good to crow-bar in something entirely irrelevant as you attempt to confer some deep, mythical understanding of the world of comedy upon yourself. Fair enough, with such original lines like 'risen without trace' you surely are the reviewers reviewer...
Waste of time writing it, waste of time reading it. Absolutley awful Who reviews the reviewers?
That's a nasty and wretched review, Bennett. I call it a 'review' but your comments are a thinly veiled contemptible attack at point blank range. It sounds more like sour grapes rather than a balanced and fair review. He's made it and you never did - such bitterness and resentment. I've never even seen Dave perform and already he's a better man than you in my books. Good luck Dave.
