Barry is an amazingly funny and likeable comedian. One of the very best on the circuit. In reality comics cannot have new material every night and to expect such is totally unrealistic. Not only does Barry have a good mix of material he also has the ability to banter with the audience well and at times you can see the enjoyment on his face when talking about a subject dear to his heart - usually xbox games or similar :D. I would recommend him to anyone and never tire of seeing him. A real charmer!

Denise, November 2010

I disagree with some of these comments having seen Barry several times in Leeds and Manchester I can safely say that I think he is developing at a fine pace. He is brilliantly funny, so likeable and charming to boot. Ive never seen the same set twice and once saw him at XS Malarky do at least 20 minutes of off the cuff stuff based on his audiences experiences was fantastic. I think those of us not n the job sometimes dont realise that some comics' material does have a life span and it cant be new stuff every time but Barry in my opinion cannot be accused of over using material he's a talent and one to watch over and over again.

Jenny, June 2010

Seemed like a nice bloke. Not sure why he had a strong Geordie accent at the beginning of the set, but hardly one at all by the end. Moderately funny set but a lot of the gags I had heard before. A bit weak .

Sam, May 2010

Barry is one the best emerging acts in the UK. He has a unique likeability combined with truly excellent material and is set to be masive. I've seen him several times and he's always got new bits in there and sometimes an entirely different set. Sometimes when a comic is brilliant your nervous to hear their new stuff in case it isn't as good as the old stuff, but in Barry's case he just keeps on getting better and better.

Mick, May 2010

I concur with David Honan's comments. I think Barry is a very likeable, "cheeky chappy" but he needs to develop new material at a much greater rate: I've now heard everything he does three or four times at five gigs over the past three years. I don't want to feel I need to ignore a whole gig if/when I see him on the line-up.

Ben, May 2010

Brill, you just want to be his mate at the end of the gig! Saw him last year in Leamington and he came back last night and it was pretty much all new stuff from when we saw him last. Roll on next year, one of the better comics to come to the gig.

Mike, October 2008

Loved him the first time I saw him but when he came back a week later, at the same venue where the majority of people had also attended the week before, he used 95% EXACTLY the same material. The first time you see it, it was funny but he needs so much more material. I'm seeing him again at Christmas time, I hope he's found some new material by then!

sarah, September 2008

Some comedians take eco friendly living so seriously they have no shame in recycling there material when there sell by dates have long expired. Having seen Barry three times over the last year and a half (York | Harrogate | Leeds) his set needs updating unless he's hoping to gig in front of the Altzeimer's society. For example he has on every occassion mined the botched June 2007 Al Qaeda attack on the Scottish airport. While Barry definitely is a funny guy and has charm in bucket loads he needs to sweep out the old stuff if he wants to build a fan base.

David Honan, September 2008
