Brendon Burns
Australian Brendon Burns has been performing comedy since the early Nineties and is known for his aggressive stage presence and controversial material.
He briefly hosted the 11 O'Clock Show and even more briefly the ITV2 spin-off show I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here Now!, walking off after just three shows.
However it is live – and especially in his solo shows – where he has forged a reputation, with six live CDs to his name. He first appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe in 1996, hosting The Comedy Zone showcase of new acts, and performing in his debut solo show 6pm Time To Get Up For Work. He has returned to the Fringe every year since, except for 1999, and in 2007 won its top prize, the if.comedy award,.

Altitude 2013

After a spell in Meribel and now three years in Mayerhofn in Austria the Altitude Festival has established itself as an appealing part of the increasingly crowded global comedy festival circuit. It might not be up your street - or up your ski-run – if you don't want to spend all day sliding down mountains, but it is hard to fault the apres-ski entertainment over five fun-packed evenings.
Actually you could fault it, but only by last year's impeccably high standards. 2012's line-up included crowd-pullers Tim Minchin, Kevin Bridges, Frankie Boyle, Milton Jones and Jimmy Carr. This year there were only two major names, but they were arguably even bigger ones. John Bishop arrived with 15 mates in tow and Eddie Izzard arrived in high-heel boots and glossy red nail varnish.

Izzard headlined the opening gala in the 550-seater Europhaus, after some very good support, making this much more than a Highlight Club gig on steroids. MC Andrew Maxwell donned his site-specific lederhosen
and explained that due to the effect of wearing chamois all day – and no pants – he was polished from the waist down. He also showed off his language skills, before discovering that there was only one German speaker in the audience – ‘so much for the local advertising’.
The full house of Brits loved opening act Marcus Brigstocke, who hit the ground running, or should that be sliding, with a series of old gags at the expense of snowboarders who spend their days pushing the snow off the mountains. The day’s blizzard conditions also gave him some good new lines about his own adventures on the slopes. ‘Llike Stevie Wonder getting a blow job – couldn't see shit, but it felt good.’ We wouldn't normally quote gags, but I can't imagine him doing this one in London, assuming that the UK's winter finally ends soon.
Brendon Burns had something new to talk about. He has just been diagnosed as 30 per cent deaf and has started to wear a discreet hearing aid in one ear. This meant that his set shuttled between the usual raging at the world and marvelling at the fact that he could finally hear his own voice coming through the monitors. I suspect Burns will get some good material out of his condition and probably an Edinburgh show. Proof that in comedy nothing is ever wasted.
The second half opened with what could have been a corny visual gag but actually won the audience over immediately. Michael Mittermeier is a major star in his native Germany, but thanks to the support of Eddie Izzard is making inroads in English-speaking countries. A lot of his schtick was about national differences – Brits and their queuing, politeness and using the phrase ‘Bob's your uncle’ – and hardly groundbreaking but Mittermeier is a clever, assured performer who makes you feel that you are in safe hands. He also has a good, clownish physicality and, like most Germans, speaks better English than most English people.
And so to the eagerly anticipated headliner. I've been slightly concerned about Eddie Izzard lately, afraid that he was so busy with so many other projects he had started to neglect his comedy muscles. He seemed a little unsettled at Russell Brand’s recent Comic Relief night and was not great when guesting at an impro gig just before this gala. But from the moment he strutted on he seemed to have found his form again, Maybe Izzard is so unique – and definitely unique among the mainstream crowd-pleasers at Altitude – that he really needs a headlining spot and plenty of time to shine.
His 40-minute set had a sprinkling of familiar material, but it was mostly a preview of his Force Majeure tour. Once again Izzard picked at his preferred themes of history and religion, with an added appeal to his fans to stay British but also embrace Europe: ‘The war is over. Learn another language.’ As many great philosophical minds have already done, he argued that God does not exist, and if he does he's a bit rubbish, but Izzard did it with more panache than most, jabbing a varnished fingernail in the air to emphasise his points.
Human sacrifice, Magna Carta, Richard The Lionheart and Charles I also came into the mix and there was a nice ego-deflating story about a recent cab trip from Wembley to Central London. As Izzard got out the taxi the driver asked if he was going back to Wembley. Izzard replied yes, and virtually reeled off his tour dates there, but what the cabbie meant was would he need a lift back there later. Proof, if ever it were needed, that comedians live in their own bubble.
Yet Izzard, with his long-term political ambitions, is clearly one who has plans to engage with the outside world. That will have to wait though. In the meantime Altitude suggests that he has got his stand-up mojo back.

I thought Scrappy Doo had retired! This guy really needs to be bigger..
Mandy Allan - 20/11/2011
Burns does a convincing pose of a rock n roll comedian, but it is the mere carapace to not very nutritious filling. Less Bill Hicks and more Kelly Monteith after mescaline and schnapps.

Saw him last night... He was great!! Don't worry , Belgian people are quite cool, but we got the jokes! Great show!! Others have felt it too... you're not the first one! Don't give up on us just yet!
David Harris - 17/08/2010
Saw him at the Udderbelly in May while his latest show was still being fine tuned (no guitarist when I saw him then so I'll be interested to see how that changes things) and he ruled : beats me why he isn't a comedy megastar personally!

Saw Burns at the Fringe 10/08/10. As the official review says, the strumming guitar is both annoying and distracting. I had high hopes for Burns, but this performance just didn't cut it. I will not go to see him again. Yet the warm up with same strumming guitarist was more amusing than the show itself...

Sound advice. Also - wear clean pants

Don't waste your money.

Just saw Burns at a small gig in Kingston - just 20 people in the room - he ripped the place apart. First time I've seen him, won't be the last. I'm sure BB is inconsistent, but there aren't many truly powerful comedians left out there and for my money - he's definitely one of the greats
Keith - 29/07/2009
Once you get passed the initial shock you know that here is a guy who thinks, feels, and on some level, cares. His DVD is being passed around my family. They have never seen anything like it as they only ever watch Peter Kay or Lee Evans. When it has finished they want to show somebody else. Inspiring stuff.
Mark, Norwich - 21/07/2009
Saw him at Latitude on Sunday... I almost wet myself! The Michael Barrymore rant will live with me for ever! Mate, you are a total hero!
Dean - 17/04/2009
Saw Brendon the other night at the MICF and it's great to have him back. I think I recall last time he was drinking and smoking on stage and maybe even a bit more subdued than he was the other night. Still waiting to read the review from that gig as both the reviewer and his mother were there on the same night which must have had some impact on the show, perhaps made it better? I've convinced all my mates to go next week. Keep coming back to Melbourne despite your hatred for us Melbournians.
Y - 21/02/2009
Saw Brendon last year and he was fantastic, coped with persistent heckling extremely well. Really looking forward to seeing him this year at the Altitude Festival.
Simon Barlow - 20/10/2008
Saw Brendon last night at the Frog & Bucket during the Manchester Comedy festival, the intensity and routine was fantastic. One of the best nights I have had in the past few years, keep out of the front row as you are likely to get splashed with spit and get picked on during one of his rants. His routine on our Liverpool neighbours last night was the best routine. A superb comic, great timing, and hopefully will never go mainstream onto TV and tone down his act.
Darren Smith, Liverpool - 19/08/2008
I went in to the Assembly Rooms a might fearful, yet I came out with love for another man, a damn funny and warmer than I expected man to boot, well done Brendon!
Andy - 14/08/2008
I saw Brendan last (13/8/8) night for the first time as he compered at the Fringe. He was brilliant. I particularly enjoyed seeing others sit stoney faced as he became more and more deviant and offensive. His take on Arnie was classic.
Jo Phelan - 09/07/2008
Yes its loud, and inevitably some of his rants will have you squirming uncomfortably, but there's a hell of a lot of giggling too. Particularly identified with Brendan's observations about the 'algebraic' nature of some relationships.(can't complain - got me a decent washing machine!). Also his observations about men that 'give up the fight'. So very true.
Mark - 08/06/2008
I wish you all the best for your Fringe run - I'll be spreading the word about your comedy again... cheers for the laughs.
Tim - 31/05/2008
Just saw his show at Soho Theatre and was expecting a lot as friends had recommended him, but got very little really. First 20 mins were quite funny but after that it was pretty boring/offensive, with a twist at the end which was meant to make you think but just seemed an excuse for what had gone before. Also two very obviously Bill Hicks-influenced skits. Love Hicks, don't think he'd have loved this.
Gregg - 29/05/2008
I've seen Brendon several times, both doing his regular stand up set and his 'offensive' tour show. Yes Brendon shouts, yes Brendon says things that might make you uncomfortable but hey guess what - he's also damn funny. He may be controversial, he may press some buttons - but guys, seriously, that's the point. Don't sit in the front row if you don't want to be 'picked on' and don't heckle unless you can take it. Instead go along, switch ON your brain, listen to the man and not the mannerisms and go home with a new viewpoint, or not - it's your choice after all. But the comedian and the man are two very different people.
Michael Monkhouse - 06/05/2008
Just saw this guy at the Comedy Store and I can't think of a more thrilling performance since Alexei Sayle trod the selfsame boards. He snarls, he sneers, he also gets me laughing myself into a stupor. Long may he reign.
Brendon Burns - 24/03/2008
Thanks Jessica but in fairness most of my responses are equally, if not more, puErile. Yeah you misspelled it. Sucks don't it? I hate it when I call someone a moron but then use blatantly incorrect grammar. I think Steve leaves out the spell and grammar check on purpose to weed us all out. For further entertainment, check out the Pommy Johnson rants. He says he was quite drunk. It's hilarious. If you check the dates he was clearly quite drunk for a few days... Awesome reading. Personally I think that that's the best thing about chortle- slamming people that are too chicken shit to heckle let alone use their own name. What could be more folly than destroying some muppet who calls himself "space captain" or "chimp splash" then deludes himself that he's a comedy pundit because he's got a dvd player and a remote control. When in reality his name is Brian and he works at the carphone warehouse. I enjoy folly it's what lost hours are for.
Jessica. - 24/03/2008
Brendon, you obviously read these comments, and indeed reply to them, which is nice but at the same time, why bother? Success always will always attract detractors, but there's no point rising to these people. The good reviews written on here say volumes more than their frankly purile digs. Brendon is a class act, and well worth seeing, yes he shouts, but he's also incredibly thought provoking once you get it, comedians as consistently funny and intelligent as this are rare.
Davey - 12/03/2008
Saw this moron on the Late Edition. Pretty embarrassing really. Marcus Brigstocke blew him away. Save your money.
Brendon Burns - 01/02/2008
Perfect pitching, master of segue and a top bloke to boot. What's not to like? No I didn't write this about myself. What?... Shit.
Susana - 26/12/2007
I've just seen Brendon on Comedy Shuffle. It was pathetic. The funniest moment was when he pull his trousers down and we could see the size of his dick. Just a tip: stop shouting mate, it doesn't help.
Ant Brown - 26/12/2007
Just saw him on Comedy Shuffle. He ruined Christmas. An unfunny, shouting, dickhead.
Rich Dudley - 25/10/2007
The review on this site needs to be updated. A comic at the height of his game who truly deserved to win the if.com award, his 2007 Fringe show was amazing and his current touring show is brilliant. Quite possibly the best comedian in the UK.
DC - 15/10/2007
Saw Brendon last night thought provoking stand up told with a passion. Go and see him Absoloutely class!
Rick - 29/08/2007
I had the privilege of seeing the late show on the night that Brendon had quite justifiably won the Edfest award. It was an excellent show! Incredibly funny but extremely thought provoking. It was non-stop, hard-hitting humour. It was the first time I have seen him and will certainly look out for future shows as well as looking for a back catalogue. I would wholly recommend the show but brace yourself! You may go away analysing your own attitudes. No one is perfect, but the show was close to it!
julie and jess - 26/08/2007
We love Brendon! Well done for winning the award. About time
MIdAS - 25/08/2007
Burnsy is pure quality, loud brash and piss-your-pants funny, this man deserves your hard earned cash.
Duncan Williams - 14/08/2007
If you're curious and/or put off by some of the negative comments here, don't be. Took my girlfriend to his show last week and he brought the house down. Very very funny, certainly amongst the best (quite possibly THE best) of the festival. Left with a CD which Brendon signed afterwards, and he was charming and very polite - even when I asked him to draw something quite childish in the sleeve - the opposite of his cartoony character in the show. Thought provoking, and forwarding thinking - Don't miss him, TV's loss is our gain.
Michelle P - 30/07/2007
AMAZING! His preview show is just amazing. He is going to take Edinburgh by storm.
julie - 29/07/2007
Back for more! I went and saw Brendon's Ed preview show last night. He just keeps getting better and better. I think its a shame when someone just doesn't get what Brendon's about. You really are missing out. But then I suppose you do have to go with an open mind and be able to laugh at everything, quite a difficult thing when your going to see a stand up i know.
Brendon Burns - 29/07/2007
Oh my god, you idiot. That's the exact opposite of everything I said. Get yourself a real name you tit. It wasn't irony it was admitting to my own shortcomings and I said that I'm guilty of thinking that something I said wasn't racist because... You know what forget it. The jokes don't work if I have to explain them. It's not me it's you. You're an utter buffoon, don't come back. Incidentally I notice you don't see the hypocrisy in your own statement which is why you're the butt of the joke. People write some shit up here but you take the cake. Moron, utter moron. Go back, proof read.... Shhhh take your time. Do you get it yet? No well I look forward to your response some time late next year. Wow you're dumb. How you've not choked on your car keys or a small toy I'll never know. Shhhh you're an idiot never speak again.
Tiger - 26/07/2007
Unbeatable - if you like the sort of comedy that involves being shouted at about cock, shit and pussy by an arrogant, coarse Aussie with a massive ego and nothing to say. The pretence that the point of his unpleasant, freqently misogynist, rants is to be ironic is not good enough - he lacks the elegance or subtlety required to do this intelligently. Trying to impress us by telling us about his media career (irrelevant), his hellraising past (yawn) and his famous friends (this material can't be racist, one of my best friends is black) while laughing at his own jokes, on top of infantile attempts to offend us, made for the most tedious evening I have spent at a comedy club in a long time. However you might enjoy it if you are stupid, drunk, or Australian.
Taylor P - 20/07/2007
I love him. He is funny!
Gordon Jackson - 27/05/2007
Fantastically funny, great human being and sharpest tool in the box. Saw him Downstairs at the Kings Head, easily the most direct, thoughtful and questioning comedian out there. Also he is a polite gentleman - how he didn't lose the plot when some bint in hot pants and a big head started trying to abuse him he managed to show her up for a psycho half-wit - AND get a hug off her boyfriend. Genius? might be.
hoquew - 16/04/2007
Not very good at all, has only gotten into comedy to make a quick buck, which he isn't good enough to do.
julie - 24/03/2007
I saw the last part of Brendon's trilogy this week. He is so fantastic, no other comic I have seen has provoked so much amusement and emotion from me in a long time. Brendon you are a f***ing god.
Katie P - 06/03/2007
Amazing, wonderful, fabulous, fantastic brilliant, marvellous, extraordinary, spectacular, outstanding, remarkable and funny too!
Sue - 09/01/2007
I am a terrible presenter, get me out of here NOW! - Brendon Burns' last words on telly.
Mark Day - 28/11/2006
I saw him about a year and a half ago and he came on stage like a man possessed, the Sid Vicious of comedy as I told him after, great style can see how some just don't get him. Furious arrogant style which just works.
Jay - 21/11/2006
I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Now really was painful to watch, he must be so embarrassed.
Chris Lander - 20/11/2006
What he just said... F**k 'em Brendon! you're a legend!
SammyD - 17/11/2006
Brendon Burns bloody rocks! With what he was given to work with on that I'm A Celebrity show – he did fucking brilliantly! It just shows how TV heads can fuck up when trying to restrain a comedian and artist such as he. It would have been better to let him do his thing, interview guests in his own way and do what comes naturally to him and not try and force him into the mould of every other boring ‘Yawn’ television host! Good for Brendon for going, being true to himself and not setting aside what makes him so great in order to stay and do a show like that - where high energy, individualism, intelligence and extreme wit were obviously ruled by the TV heads as ‘ skills we don’t like in a host’ By choosing to try and turn said host into a fuckwit (and good for Brendon for not letting them succeed) they lost out on what could have been a fantastic show. \r\n\r\nAnd anyone that would rather see the cabbage that they put on last night, or anyone else of the same type, does not deserve to criticise Brendon, nor in fact to speak his name – because they are clearly have the intelligence and humour of a semolina pudding!\r\n\r\nBrendon you are still a favourite of mine and many! Keep up what you do best and stay fucking brilliant
Jackie Fenwick - 17/11/2006
Really not surprised he got fired from I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here Now, it was the worst TV I\ve ever seen. Dont think he is going to get any more work in a hurry.
Rattydave - 16/11/2006
I saw Monday night's I'm A Celebrity... thing and was so funny!\ You could see that he had been told to keep it tame. I just wished they'd let him go for it.
Luke Byrnes - 14/11/2006
Saw him on I'm a Celeb Now last night, never seen such car crash telly in my life! The audience werent laughing, he can't read autocue, it was painful to watch - dont think his TV career is going to go far!
ian - 12/10/2006
I just saw him at the garrick, he was funny in the way your mate is when he\'s descibing a good night out,but this wore thin. By the end, when he seemed to be proclaiming himself to be the greatest comedian of his generation, it was simply embarrassing. He needs to pull his head out of his arse and write some good material. I've heard some people comparing him to Bill Hicks, Thats like comparing Rolf Harris toLeonardo Da Vinci. No matter how personal or preachy Hicks got, he always had killer jokes to go with it,and it was this that made him the comedian of his generation. If anybody wants to see a great comedian go see Kitson or buy a Chris Rock DVD.
Peter O. - 16/09/2006
This guy opened the Cape Town International Comedy festival "Danger Zone" Fresh out of drug rehab, (London's upper class overpriced Priory). He misreads his audience, and portrays an even more arrogant and ignorant attitude and he exhudes all the pretentiousness of a wannabe comedian who has never hit the big time- and certainly never will. His overbearing, condescending and agonizing stage presence succeeded in only one thing...It took away the limelight from the other truly brilliant comedians and ruined the momentum of the show. Sure he might gain a few laughs, but he will never have an audience in hysterics- which was the whole advertised point of the venue. Bottom line is I cannot believe that the general public were conned into paying lots of money to hear him at the expense of other performer...T ime for him to hang up the mike and find a real job.
Cat - 01/09/2006
He just gets better and better. A complete legend. His show is so funny I think I peed a little bit. Unbelievably clever and on the mark at all times. Seriously intelligent, quick thinking and expressive. His abuse ranges from the crude and the rude to deeply involved diatribes - even if you are too slow to understand the astuteness underneath, you can still laugh at the surface rants. The mans brain must be like an information soaked spongy vortex that absorbs everything and throws it back out in the form of a hilarious observation wrapped up in a comedy genius bow. Funny as fuck

Anyone looking for pointers as to the quality of Burns' comedy should refer to his little addendum to Ben Stevens' comment (below)

Brendon Burns rocks! Saw him last night in Islington in a tiny sweat box of a venue, and he had me captivated for the whole hour despite the heat. He's the Aussie Bill Hicks, go see him.
Simon - 14/07/2006
A truly brilliant, very funny comedian when he's on form, kinda embarrassing when not.
Goatfuckerheckler - 03/07/2006
Seen Brendon many times in Sheffield and Edinburgh. He develops and tries out new material all the time .... 2005 Edinburgh was terrific ... he had so much material, and so much audience engagement, that, prompted by a heckler and in order to finish his set, we all followed him outside where he continued his set for another 45 minutes in the square outside the Gilded Balloon, to the amazement of passers-by. No-one left, some even missing their next show for him. He's not a lazy comic, and you should expect to be intellectually challenged as well as amused. Stay away if easily offended.
Jess - 23/06/2006
I can't stand him, he's a self satisfied, egotistical, lame, talentless idiot. He's lacking in any flair and his material is weak, lazy, bitchy and tired. He's without any credentials I associate with quality comedy
Ben Stevens - 15/06/2006
Raging brilliance, my hole. This guy is an embarassment.
Tom P - 26/05/2006
New, unique and personal - last night I reckon I saw a very special comedian at the Comedy Bunker, Ruislip. Even with an unusually small audience, he kept the audience captivated both on a personal and comedic level. Whilst, admittedly, individual sections lacked structure in a traditional sense, the set was held together very strongly by both repeated references to previous jokes (yes, sometimes a bit too much) and by a very strong overall structure. He managed to string a set that lasted literally two hours out of his own experiences as an addict and recovering from his addiction. His (possibly new) set is wise, outrageous, hilarious, personal and fascinating in equal measures.
Kim - 24/05/2006
I cant stand him. There is nothing 'to get'.
Robert Schimmel - 20/05/2006
Caught him this week in Leeds at the Oak for only a fiver, thought he was first class, he seemed to blow everyone away, good that he's got clean as can't imagine what he was like when he was high, truly out of control! At times it felt like therapy but hey at least he was making a real connection with the audience, rather than the usual 'have you ever noticed' shtick. On the edge, but the greats always are, reminded me a lot of Kinison et al.
Toby B - 10/05/2006
Pushes boundaries to the extreme creating a cutting and brutal blend of intelligent & shocking comedy. His comedy has so many levels that certain audiences simply cannot handle it. One minute you are safe and the next you want to cover your ears. Original, unique and side-splitting
Gary - 01/05/2006
Saw him in Melbourne around 2003. His show was bitingly funny at times, reminiscent of Hicks or Stanhope, but then he'd go off on a rant about fat people, seemingly to bolster his self-proclaimed cunt status rather than serve any comedic purpose
Bert Cobain - 30/04/2006
Raging brilliance.
VB - 30/04/2006
'Jokes' about children with cancer are just not acceptable. Get him off
Nikki - 27/04/2006
Saw Brendon last night at the Glee in Cardiff. Fantastic comedian and his cocksure attitude is all just part of the show. I can see how some people would take him wrong but I found him original and rib ticklingly funny. Bit wary of catching his eye though for fear of becoming part of his show! Fantastic.
Nicola Dexter - 11/04/2006
Sitting in the front row at the Soho Theatre being shouted at as a surrogate ex-girlfriend was a very interesting experience. I personally thought much of his observational humour was incredibly funny. I think that being a dad has been great for giving him so much material that is genuine. However he should give up smoking if he wants to get a woman who will not cheat on him
Rob - 31/03/2006
Brendon Burns rocks. I think a lot of people miss the point but then I get the feeling he would like that. True class
Dan - 02/03/2006
A revelation. The best comedian in the world today
Brendon Burns - 27/02/2006
Wow people seem to love me and hate me even when I'm not working. I don't know whether to be flattered or scared. Are people reviewing the way I take out my bins on a tuesday night or something? "Saw Brendon in ASDA "comedian" my arse. He just payed for his shopping and left" Fruitbat Hairygumboot "Well I've been peering through his window for weeks and he looked very inciteful as he did his dishes" Sneezybitchflaps "I listened to Brendon Burns take a shit in Itsu sushi's gents and I've never been more offended in my life. The man's a proper cunt of the highest order" Bob
Emsie - 04/02/2006
Absolutely hideous. Without exception the worst 'comedian' I have ever seen. Save yer money guys..
Dominic Makin - 25/01/2006
He's a philosopher, a free thinker and funny
Jo - 16/12/2005
One of the best comedians I've seen/heard in ages
Saddened - 16/12/2005
Sorry to see any comedian 'die' like BB did last night at the Hellfire Club, Wycombe. Just a bit too cocksure and personal to the hecklers and this time the audience bit back and won
Adam Fowler - 12/12/2005
Brendon has one of the funniest acts I've seen in ages, clever, crude and just bloody funny.
Dave Bishop - 30/11/2005
Used to be the best in the business. However last time I saw him he spent 15 mins ranintg about Scousers! Why Brendon? You're better than that
Rich - 28/11/2005
Saw him as compere in Birmingham and he stormed the night. Don't miss him!
Katie - 01/11/2005
No wonder he was giving away drugs in Glastonbury to his audience, you'd have to be on mushrooms to see him
Steve - 26/10/2005
Was totally rubbish in Brighton
Pete - 28/08/2005
About as dangerous as a tiny ickle kitten, and as funny as seeing said kitten being steamhammered to death
Jacko - 18/08/2005
The man is a comic genuis. I love his abuse
Killian Monson - 13/08/2005
Anyone who finds Brendon or Burnsy 'unfunny' or 'offensive' needs a good fuckin slap! Both sides to his comic personality are funny as fuck.
Burnsy - 27/07/2005
I hold my hands up, I'm not actualy funny, more foul mouthed and a teenie bit insecure.
Jubie - 17/07/2005
ust a fantastic comic
Munter Gatherer - 16/07/2005
I missed the show at Glastonbury, but my mates saved me a few shrooms from the many kilos he gave out. Any man who gives away about a grand's worth of shrooms to his audience can't be all bad, surely? I applaud the man, belatedly, but I applaud him nonetheless.
Rachel - 13/07/2005
Brendon Burns made Glastonbury for me and my boyfriend. What a funny, totally great bloke. By the way thanks for the mushrooms Brendon
Sam - 04/07/2005
Brendon, you made Hicks proud. And my friend vomit. Bravo
Matt - 25/06/2005
Rubbish. Absolutely bloody rubbish. Last time I saw him he did five minutes and got such a negative response from the audience that the compere had to drag him off before someone tried to kill him.
Chrissi S - 27/04/2005
The set has no content, its not clever or funny and doesnt contain anything worth thinking about - especially as he has to point out that the it is so clever and thought provoking. Surely thats not comedy
Jay - 20/04/2005
He's not funny, he doesnt understand his set or his values and needs to think his whole out look on life and his material. That might help....slightly.
Mark - 12/04/2005
I've been going to watch Brendon's shows for about eight years now. I think he is the best comic I've seen. He has provided me and many others with many nights of sheer enjoyment and jaw achingly funny comedy. I wish to thank him for that. I rececntly saw him in Edinburgh at The Stand and I was having a great time until the compeare came on the stage and behaved in a way I have never before seen, complaining about Brendon in a most unprofessional way. He is a master of his art.
Brother Trousers - 29/03/2005
Just piss funny. He's even funnier when most of the audience just doesn't "get" him and only a few do.Piss yer pants funny. Go see him when he's in a town near you and you won't regret it. Honest.
