All this fuss about Brendan Riley. All he has got going for him is superb stage prescence, excellent material, a natural affinity with any audience, the ability to compare the toughest of gigs, the energy of four-year-old triplets on red Smarties, heckle putdowns that do not piss people off but make them see the error of there ways, and a superb one-man show in his back pocket. But if you take all that away he is just a really nice guy from Formby working as a stand up comedian at the best venues in the country every week, which is nothing to boast about
