I'm an American whose family has always enjoyed Benny Hill's unique antics and personal warmth. How sad that he died alone, perhaps unaware of the love and respect that so many fans have given him through the years. He has never really received his due. In fact, there are no regularly scheduled Benny Hill shows currently shown on New York City TV. Why? Benny, you were the best

You're not supposed to say anything offending these days... Well, I for one believe that we will get un-PC again in a while - too bad its too late for Benny. But then again, he did his fair bit, didn't he? I saw his shows during my teens, when they were shown on Finnish TV I used to like it but after a few years he DID seem to resemble a dirty old man more than anything else. Yet I find myself admiring him in many ways. Maybe he had some fixed ideas and was pervert, but what does that matter in the end? He stayed true to his friends, loved life with passion, and tried to show other people that most things - indeed pretty much everything - can be laughed at.

Man, I knew I was watching comical genuis when I first saw him. He took humanity, the seriousness of it, and made you feel like anything - death included - is really funny is some ways. The sheer creativity blew my mind. The different ideas, the hilarious cast, the tasteful use of sex and all its rediculous outlets. He showed us (like no other that Ive seen) that life might be way too serious. He took culture, gender, height, sexual preference, religion, professionalism, and politics and tossed them together in every direction with a pinch or irony and a dash of sarcasm. Humour today doesnt even come close.

Ah, That Benny Hill. That Face and those eyes of his - unique and conveyed so much like no other. That voice - he could mold it into any form of speech. His voice made ordinary stuff sound funny. Man, he could sing! He could play an instrument or more. He spoke many languages. His disguises - the range was mind boggling. His impersonation - World's Best. Can any other comedian come close to such a mountain of talent. The world is churlish in critising him, I am grateful to Benny Hill. He made a difference to my life.

Universal, unparalled, genius. His absence is felt but his life never forgotten. RIP.

Benny Hill is a classic comedian. His blend of side-splitting humour has tickled my funny bone from an early age. I'm a teenager and will always enjoy his madcap escapades. I'm not sure whether to believe what the papers have said about Benny, but hay! Who gives a damn, it doesn't impair the enjoyment of the humour. I'm sure that a lot of comedians had slightly saucy lifestyles, Bob Monkhouse for one. One last thing... Why do they complain about Benny's moderate refrences towards sex, it's not pornography. They want to compare it with some of the stuff on today, not that people mind it. God bless you Benny!
