We bought tickets for Bruce's Tam O’Shanter show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and he was the surprise highlight of our Fringe. We visit the Fringe every year and book more than 20 shows each visit and this show was at the top of table. We found he was also doing a free show (My Afro Celtic Angst) which we subsequently booked and found to be completely different material and equally as good. As regular comedy club punters we cannot understand how we have never heard of this man! Funny, genuine and informative; we will be looking out for him now that he is on our radar! Bruce was MCing as part of a trio of comedians sent through the Gilded Balloon to entertain the Inverness audience at Eden Court Theatre. e made an enthusiastic MC and lifted the audience along with him, and made easy passage for the comedians to follow. His anecdotes of being a physics teacher and the problems with pupils and the many observations and situations in everyday living.rnrn Growing up in a mixed race family in a small town and all that entails, which he made light of, in his engaging manner. A larger than life person both physically and personality wise and a fine comedian who deserves to go far in his chosen vocation - making people laugh! Douglas Thomson, June 2011 |
