Original Review:
Although this relative newbie's set is still rough around the edges, there are enough clever one-liners and visual gags to suggest real promise.
He's an aspiring actor - yes, another one - which gives him a confidence and stage presence that can only help. But unlike many other thespian wannabes, there's care in the writing, not just in the performing.
Time will undoubtedly heal the problems of momentum and inconsistency that currently dog his routine a disservice, and then Dubus should be on track to greater things.

Witty, clever, easelessly funny... Saw this guy in Rome and can't recommend him enough! go see.

Saw Alexis in a very cold tent in a very soggy field recently and despite seeing his own breath escaping from his frail body he did a great set. Clever, well timed and with a wicked delivery he's one to watch!
David Howe - 20/01/2008
A wry, empathetic and amusing godson. We wish him well.

A wonderful warm character with a humour to match. Saw him live in Africa (One of the privileged few) Hope to see more in the future. Keep up the good work

Alexis comperes and runs a great show in Borough, which is worth checking out for a mid-week comedy fix. He has a great ability to strike up rapport with the audience of backpackers and suits alike, as well as some cheeky ad-libbing which gets people laughing, whilst never degenerating into the bullying tactics that some comedians employ on audience members. In summary - a great compere and stand-up.

I booked Alexis for a recent charity gig, and he worked the room expertly -- weaving in a wealth of spontaneous witticisms, plus a solid routine full of expert observations. He obviously has an eye for what tickles him, and he communicates this with ease, affability, and a good deal of cheeky charm.

Great stuff
Das Skyes - 02/08/2005
Laughed very hard at the jokes and even harder at his simian like appearance. Two lines of comedy for the price of one.

Poor.

Alexis is subtly intelligent and has the wit of a great comic. Watch this space and be forever amazed by his versitility and natural rhythm. Fabulous darling.

A wonderfully funny act whose warmth on stage and great improvisational skills mean that he is also an excellent MC.
Katie M - 03/11/2003
Alexis is one of the few male comedians who manages to amuse without being a completely self obsessed knob. Very sweet. Bless.
Roisin - 14/09/2003
Alexis is funny.

Has a lot of potential and is very keen. Has some good content in his set. Besides anyone who holds The People's Record For Staring At A Dogs Arse deserves some respect. One to look out for in the future.
