Saw Mr Davies last night at Westcliff, probably the best stand-up for collective belly laughs myself and the wife have seen and we are comedy addicts. The 'firework parking' impromptu stuff was excellent, the whole show was terrific and the parenting stories were fantastic. Top marks

Great to have him back doing stand-up again. much missed. Superb!
Mandy Allan - 09/01/2010
A Happy Shopper Peter Cook, always has been IMHO.
Alex - 27/10/2008
Although quite slow, his stand-up is very funny. Keep it up Alan

Personally I love Alan. He makes me laugh so hard that I inevitably end up crying. Him and Stephen make a great double act, and the "awww...not again" feeling you get when he trips yet another bell on QI means he's doing his job very well. I wish I'd seen him live, unfortunately, not in the right country for that :-(
Sara SJ - 28/10/2006
Well, I'm rather partial to the charming weirdness of Alan Davies. He's one of the few comedians who makes me laugh my socks off, alongside Connolly.
Debbie - 12/04/2006
I watched Alan recently on QI, and think his quick wit and humour is great. He is the only reason I watch QI, his responses to Stephen Fry work fantastically

As is always the case... TV work or relative success comes the backlash from the comedy fans.. the accusations of selling out from the comedy 'alternatives'. Success always inspires jealousy. Alan is clearly a very clever and talented man, which is how he made his way onto TV in the first place, and I was fortunate enough to see him at a TV recording recently at which he was engaging and funny throughout.
Alex King - 18/02/2006
Shame on anybody who boos somebody who's only crime is failing to make you laugh. However, there's always been something about Alan Davies that felt fake to me. Cockney geezer one minute, bumbling intellectual the next. I don't get the sense that he's totally himself as a stand up and I think he should stick to comic acting and playing the fool to Stephen Fry which he does very well.
Emmylou - 13/11/2005
Charming in Jonathon Creek, moving as an actor, hilarious stand-up and wickedly fun on QI. My copy of Urban Trauma still makes me cry with laughter and I can practically recite it.
Laura - 22/08/2005
I think Alan is utterly brilliant! Just saw him in the Edinburgh production of The Odd Couple where he gave a fantastic performance. He was funny, engaging, and entirely believable - exactly what you want from a stellar comedic actor. In fact, he was so good I went to see the production twice!
Louis - 18/07/2005
Funny and charming. Rare.
Lucy - 02/05/2005
Alan Davies is absolutely watchable! He comes across with complete integrity --- which is the basis of his gift --- and, to boot, deeply seductive.
Angela Fuller - 24/03/2004
I think he is excellent. I have been watching him on TV and at live shows since Viva Cabaret some ten years or so ago, and still never fails to give me belly ache from laughing so hard. One of a kind.
Alex - 12/10/2003
I think Alan is very talented in everything he does from comedy to acting and long may it continue. Just the tonic to cheer a long face up.
Jane - 23/09/2003
In response to all those that booed Alan Davies on stage at London's Comedy Store: 'What's the point of buying a ticket to see someone who you don't consider funny?' Like any actor or comdedian Alan cannot respond to every one's sense of humour all the time, however he is up there with the best of them.
Rayray - 03/08/2003
Getting slagged off a bit on this page isn't he? I too have seen him totally die on stage but when he is good he is up there with the best. Some of his routines are top class and I think he is one of our best comedians. Brilliant methinks.
Correy Lee - 05/05/2003
Dreary and fatuous. The curly mop must have gone to his head. He needs to sit down and watch his act and feel the pain he puts his audience through.
Chewy - 18/11/2002
Not sure about the acting but he's a top comedian, and gorgeous with it.
Shotgun - 13/11/2002
Definitely a sell-out. He's just one of these not even half funny comedians who got into stand-up in the hope of getting a TV deal or becoming an actor.
Mark Perros - 11/11/2002
Another sell-out comedian with nothing to say. He should spend more time working on his act than counting his pile of Abbey National cash - get some self-respect Davies.
Lin McDonald - 15/07/2002
Was in the audience of London's Comedy Store recently when he "bombed" spectacularly.
He did not seem at all capable of handling a live audience, which prceeded to boo him from the stage, and he ran for dear life. I have never seen open spots humiliated in this way.
Is this guy actually a live comic, or just an adverts person?

Fuckin' hot Brit!

Laura - 22/04/2002
An instant favourite! Wow!
Susan - 13/04/2002
My 'Urban Trauma' is almost worn out! Love him to bits
Josh - 18/03/2002
He is undoubtedly one of the best British stand up comedians of all time. It would be a criminal act for anyone who likes him as an actor not to see him live.
Grandma Linda - 18/03/2002
Just adore him. I'm too old to seduce him, but maybe he would like to be adopted.
Louise - 30/11/-0001
I watch Jonathan Creek here in the US, truly envious of people who get to see Alan live. Rather dishy, could watch him act forever.
G - 30/11/-0001
If you Brits have grown tired of him - please send him over to us in the States. We love him. His wit and charm will always be appreciated here.
